Question about English (US)

When I went to a restaurant in Hawaii, I made an online reservation beforehand then I went there. After I sat down at the table, I was looking at the menu for 10 minutes and waiting for a server of my table to show up and take my order but since no one came, I asked a woman who refilled my water that I'm ready to order but I knew she wasn't a server. She said I'll let your server know so I waited for another five minutes but no one showed up. The reason why I didn't raise my hand and call a server that I knew that it could be conciderd rude if some one raise their hand and call stuff at restaurants but nevertheless someone is supposed to come and take my order before I ask them. I ended up starting a conversation with a guy behind me and telling him that can you take my order.

Is this natural?
