basically :
très = very = muy
beaucoup = a lot = mucho/ muchos/ muchas
trop = too much (or so much in casual settings.)= demaciado

Très" et "beaucoup" sont vraiment similaires. Mais :
- beaucoup s'utilise avec un verbe ou un nom
- très s'utilise avec un adjectif ou un adverbe.
- beaucoup de gens
- beaucoup de sucre
- il mange beaucoup
- il parle beaucoup
- très fort
- très fatigué
- très facile
- très facilement
(seule exception : "+" et "-" : beaucoup plus, beaucoup moins)
trop = très/beaucoup, mais en excès, + qu'il ne faut
- trop de sucre

@angelosaurusrex yes you can say both, just trop loin implies it's too far..
trop = très in some cases to express joy or excitement : c'est trop bien ! ( it's not actually too good it means so good, awsome)
actually to say too good to be true we say "c'est trop beau pour être vrai"
