Question about English (US)

I am a language teacher. Russian and English.
I am passionate about both languages and I do my best to make my lessons for my students as exciting as possible.

. I try to make it all connected to some memorable story so that to involve my students emotionally.

. I use all kinds of tools and games with an athletic background,

. I try to find some cool, awesome videos on YouTube for each individual student to make them interested in the language so they will use the language on a daily basis outside of classes. etc, etc

And then when I ask them, ''What is your favorite subject in school?''
The typical answer is MATH.
Honestly??⁉, it just blows my mind.
Each and every time I hear that answer I just can't believe my ears !!
😄 That's not fair !!!

Well, why on earth they would be interested in MATH ?
Any thoughts on how to solve this equation ? 🙂
