We say both āI haveā and āIāve gotā, which is a contraction of āI have gotā, and they mean the same thing.
Iām not sure why we say both. āIāve gotā is just extra words, but we do say it often.
But, there is no difference in meaning.

So⦠Do these mean the same thing too? Also, can't "have got" be in the past tense?
Iāll have my friends help me with my homework.
Iāll have got my friends help me with my homework.

Iāll have my friends help me with my homework.
Iāll have got my friends help me with my homework.

No, we donāt take it that far. Thatās too many verbs.
Letās take the contraction out so it is clearer.
I will have my friends help me.
I will have got my friends help me.
Only the first one is ok.
I donāt really know the reason for this. Someone more knowledgeable than me can chime in.
Funny enough, you can make that sentence ok if you say:
I will have gotten my friends to help me.
By tomorrow, I will have gotten my friends to help me.
Which means something different, but now my brain hurts. š

Oh, and btw, the past tense of āhave gotā is āhad gottenā in the US. āHad gotā in the Uk.

Oh, thank you for your reply even though you've been through! I'd appreciate it if you'd reply when your headache is gone!š
So you mean "I will have my friends help me." and "I will have gotten my friends to help me." are the only two that are used, right? Nevertheless, "had got" is also used for the past tense. Did I get that right?
Also which of these two is used more?

Hi @yama__ !
In my opinion, I think the ones you should focus on are:
I will have my friends help me. (Future)
I had my friends help me.
(Past)
They are used much more than āI will have gottenā¦ā which means something very specific and itās unlikely you would need to know this, yet.
