it's widely used but not correct. it's to indicate "sort of"

I don't agree. It is a casual, informal suffix that people use. The definition/example I agree with.
But don't think that it's an incorrect thing to say.
"What color is her dress?" "Well, it's hard to say. It's sort of bluish."
