"Why don't we" is a leading suggestion. Nothing wrong either it at all, it's perfectly good and not rude. You're just offering a suggestion.
"Would you like to...?" Sounds a little softer (in a good way) and caring. You're giving them the power to decide (in a good way) and the option to easily say Yes or No. You're letting them know you'll do whatever they want or decide.
