She doesn't say it clearly. That's common in fast speech. I basically just heard a W sound and an indistinct vowel.

@COASTBC Would you miss this word if you hear it for the first time? Can you hear it or it's just a guess bcs "while" should be in this case?

@Lee_D237 I hear the sound and interpret it via context. Generally I don't notice inaccuracies like that unless someone mentions it. Simply a lifetime of hearing similar speech.
You will find that native speakers often don't realize that they sound different than the dictionary pronunciation.
Example. When I say "your" it usually sounds like "yer". I use a different vowel in casual and fast speech.

@Lee_D237 I understand. The diversity of English accents doesn't make it easy for you either.
Example. Most Scottish accents are mild and easy to understand. I've heard some that were incomprehensible to me.
There's a video on YouTube of a Scottish member of parliament in the UK. Nobody in parliament could understand him and neither could I. I watched it several times and never did understand what he said.

Again, I hear it pretty clearly. I think you might be hearing “on” because instead of saying “while” with a long ‘i’ sound, she said the word almost like “woll”. Also, the word “my” comes directly after it. And it’s pretty common for people to have trouble distinguishing the ‘m’ sound from the ‘n’ sound. But the ‘w’ at the beginning and the ‘l’ sound at the end are still pretty clear to me, which is why I was able to understand what she said.

@bsloan7 Perhap it's the difference between Chinese and English that I'm still struggling with listening. There are no linking, elision, assimilation ... in Chinese
