Neither, ketchup isn't considered spicy.
Hot is often substituted for spicy, but inevitably it leads to confusion and the question. "Do you mean it's too hot or too spicy?"

@magasum That is non standard. If you asked for ketchup in a restaurant, they wouldn't bring you that. Normal ketchup is a bit sweet and has a mild vinegar taste as well. Cheap brands of ketchup usually have too much vinegar flavor as the primary complaint.
If you wanted something spicy in a restaurant you would ask "What kinds of hot sauce do you have?"

@COASTBC thanks a lot. Spicy ketchup is a pretty common thing in my country, so it's good to know it's not that common in the US.

@magasum That's interesting. Heinz is the most recognizable ketchup brand in North America. Hot sauces have become increasingly popular, so I suppose they're trying to get a piece of the hot sauce market.
I don't use ketchup much, but when I buy some, I just look for Heinz. It doesn't matter if another brand is cheaper, I know what I'm getting with Heinz.

@COASTBC I've actually never seen a spicy Heinz ketchup myself, I only found it online. Even though Heinz operates in my country, I don't think it sells spicy ketchup here. There are other brands that do though.

@magasum Agreed, I was surprised when I saw your picture. I doubt hot and spicy ketchup will do well in North America. People are surprisingly stubborn about their sauces. Something that is a combination of two well known flavors is just confusing.
