Ms. Lina teaches ninth grade English. She gives the class directions for a writing assignment that is to be completed by the end of the period, Josh is not paying attention and missed the directions. He frequently bothers his classmates by humming, tapping his pen, reminding them of the rules or speaking out of turn. He asks for the directions to be repeated. The other students in the class begin to make fun of Josh and ridicule him for not paying attention once again, Ms. Linda, feeling frustrated because she is asked to repeat the instructions once again, continues passing out materials and ignores Josh and the other students.

1. Situations where students find it hard to pay attention are all too common nowadays as today’s youth find school quite boring. Long lectures with low engagement as well as lack of a good reason to learn the lesson make it hard for students to care or even acknowledge the lessons they are being taught.
2. Josh’s continual lack of attention and general cluelessness in addition to his frequent annoying antics in class clearly made the teacher Ms. Linda fed up of him, leading to her reciprocating the behavior towards Josh.
3. If the situation of Josh not paying attention is not addressed, Josh will soon find it hard to perform well in school and will do poorly on any tests or exams he faces. In addition to this, Josh will be ridiculed by his classmates due to his dullness and the inevitable scoldings he will receive from his teacher in the future.
