i must hurry: you are obligated to hurry, and you 'have' to be in a hurry
id better hurry, is like I 'should' hurry, if I dont who knows what is going to happen.
must has a more direct, heavier connotation than better.
But I feel like must is a bit old in my opinion, and better is the more used phrase nowadays.... I think

Both have the same meaning, but "better" is used more frequently. "Must" sounds formal.
