Question about English (US)

So I have applied a job and I have received their reply by email. Should I say something like 'thank you for your reply'(感谢您的回复) 'thank you for your considering' (感谢您的考虑) or something like that...?

If they send me an email to tell me that I am not hired when I fail an interview, can I say thank you for the notification.....? 感谢您的通知…? (does it even make sense?
