Question about English (US)
When you hear the word "vixen", do you think at first of a fox or a woman? I'd like to know if this word is rather used in its literal meaning or it's like with some other animal words, like the one to describe a female dog.

@Sapphire-chan it is mostly used to describe women. However, if you are specifically referring to animals than this word will be understood as well.

I think of a woman when I hear that word.
I've never actually heard a fox being called a vixen. It makes sense though, because an attractive woman can be called a "fox".

I also think of a woman. I’d say a female fox if I were talking about the animal.
