Question about English (US)
What is the difference between ''open up'' and ''talk'' in these headlines?
What is the difference between ''open up'' and ''talk'' in these headlines?
Note that there are two headlines that address the same person and the same subject, but one that the journalist wrote with ''open'' and the other that the other journalist wrote with ''talk'', is there any specific difference in the writing intent of both in this context?
Here are the two headline links so you can understand the whole context:

Well, it's just a matter of dramatics, I would say. To talk is just to speak. Jay Cutler is speaking about whatever. To open up would infer that you are revealing something that might not be known, might be surprising or even shocking. Something not expected. Revealing the truth about something.

@HebrewDane So, in this context, was the journalist who wrote with ''open up'' just trying to make a ''drama'' trying to get the public's attention?
- English (US)
@hinativeCEO I wouldn't say that necessarily. It's probably just the choice of wording he/she used. But it does give a bit more sense of something revealing. Probably if I saw both headlines I would choose the opens up one thinking I might learn something unexpected.

@hinativeCEO Maybe "reveals" would work. Admits could work too. It would depend on the topic.
