"Grief" means strong emotion experienced due to loss or affliction. It is an active coping process in human brain. For example, we can feel fear, anxiety, loneliness, sorrow, yearning, frustration, etc.
"Mourning" means outward expression of our grief. For example,
(a) funerals and elegy (in case of death)
(b) express through any forms of arts
(c) express grief through conversation or communication
