Question about English (US)
Sometimes I see the word "themself" being used and I don't know how to fit it in a phrase. Is it correct to use "themself"? If yes, when? And can I just use "themselves" instead? Because I've always learned that "themselves" was the correct way

“Themself” is used (I think) only when it’s a “singular they”. Like “someone” or “anyone.”
“Anyone can learn to do that for themself.”
“Someone helped themself to some extra cookies!”

Themself= one person, we don’t know if it’s a man or woman, themselves=multiple people
