Question about English (US)
How do you pronounce "birthday"?
It seems natural to pronounce "birth-they" by placing the tip of the tongue between the upper and lower teeth.
Or should I move my tongue firmly from the "th" position to the "d" position and pronounce it "birth-day"?
I am wondering how native speakers pronounce it.

birththey is fine I think
you can put in a little effort to pronounce the d, but in day to day conversations its usually pronounced birthey

You should move your tongue. “Birth-they” sounds unnatural to me”.

I agree with @bsloan7 .
I never leave my tongue in position for the "th" sound.
I make a clear "d" sound, although it may be a very soft "d" sometimes.
