Question about English (US)

How do you pronounce "birthday"?
It seems natural to pronounce "birth-they" by placing the tip of the tongue between the upper and lower teeth.
Or should I move my tongue firmly from the "th" position to the "d" position and pronounce it "birth-day"?
I am wondering how native speakers pronounce it.
