“Changes” implies it is happening currently. “Changed” implies it happened in the past.
The more correct way to say would be “their way of living is changing to be more advanced”. Or past tense, “their way of living changed to be more advanced.”
“Is changed into” also implies someone or something else (an external force of some kind) is doing the changing.
