It's like saying, "Football is my thing." Thing, bag are two slang terms for something that you really like. Something that you are "into" like a sport, a hobby, a music genre, etc.
"I'm really into baseball. I watch games on TV all season." "Smoking is not my bag, man. I try to live a healthy life."

@Mateus_Viana There is a well-known author named John Grisham here. He writes a lot of books about lawyers and such. This one is called "The Testament" and I had read it years ago. But I read it again and loved it once more. A very touching story. Interesting and moving. So much detail about the Pantanal, the indigenous people, etc.

@HebrewDane Pantanal have a lot of types species of animals. Which are fantastic species. Although is such a pity with the deforestation and another factores that is endangering this species.

@Mateus_Viana It said in the book what an awesome and varied place it is. With so many species of birds and animals. And yes, it's being threatened just like the Amazon region is. That's too bad. We have done the same here in my country. We seem to destroy more than we preserve.

I want to say, is not so "common" but one of the purpose of destroying the vegetation is for raising livestock or planting crop. Although is sad, because this action is endangering our species and enviroment.

@Mateus_Viana I have a friend in Mexico City who married a gal from Brazil. From Porto Alegre. They just went for a long visit a couple months ago. Took a boat ride on the Amazon where they slept on the deck in hammocks with lots of other people. He took a lot of photos. It was a very cool experience. But he said at times he could see smoke off in the distance where people were burning the forest.
I think Brazil would be an interesting place to visit. So huge. So varied.

@Mateus_Viana It's a difficult situation. People need a way to make money. To have enough income to survive. And yet sometimes what they have to do is also bad for the environment and bad for the whole world in a way. It's complicated for sure.

@HebrewDane Yes, here each region have different types of biomes. I think in terms of explore or see our species or variety of vegetation, I think is a cool place to visit.
