I haven't watched but from what I heard there's little to no realism about how they portrayed Paris in the show. There's a lot of videos of French people and foreigners living in France and Paris talking about it. There was for a time a lot of edits on Twitter about what Emily's life should really look like IRL.
There's a lack of realism not only about the city, the culture or the country but in most aspects of Emily's life, especially how she is in her job/field and how much money she has, her very expensive lifestyle compare to what her salary should be, and overall her experience and struggles as a foreigner in Paris.
I also heard Emily is quite annoying so that must not help her case...
This is the most realistic scene apparently:

Thank you a lot for your reply.
Like I suspected, the series is not realistic at all.
It just shows the dreaming side of Paris.
And also it is very weird that everyone speaks English so fluently and gladly; I know the French don't like speaking it, do you?
I mostly appreciate the picture showing the real Emily's experience.
Watching it, I think France and Italy are more similar than I thought. 😅
Anyway, I didn't understand the bank in a monday thing.

@salvatore-82 Don't like speaking English or more like cannot speak English fluently. And even if people were fluent, no French office would all speak English just for 1 person who doesn't know French, especially not between themselves.
Yeah Paris is very idealised by foreigners. In France, I believe it's the most hated city and is sometimes seen as something quite different from the rest of the country. People are very proud of their regions after all and love local traditions and nature more than cities like Paris that lacks of it.
A lot of banks are closed on Mondays.
Yes, France and Italy have lots of similarities. Especially for departements bordering it. Savoie (Savoia), Corse (Corsica) and Alpes-Maritimes (Alpi Marittime).

La série n’est pas du tout réaliste et présente un Paris qui n’existe pas.
