Question about English (US)

Is there a word in English to represent students in upper-grade levels compared with the speaker? For example, what word should I put in the following sentence? This question is too hard, so we might consult __ ? In both Chinese and Japanese, I am quite certain that there is a word for it like 先輩. I am not quite sure if the word "high-year students or higher-year students" works here or not.
