How do you say this in English (US)? Does the word "dull" belong to UK English? I'm a writer, so if I'm using USA English, would it be wrong to use the word dull? For example, as "How dull."

I think "boring" is more common but we all know the word "dull" here in the US.

I agree with @paulf9765 and I also think that in the US when we actually do use the word “Dull” or the expression “How Dull” it’s to really emphasize how boring or underwhelming something is. So you only use it on occasion here in the states vs in the UK they use dull as frequently as we would use the word boring

I think that dull is often used to refer to how sharp something is, like a knife.
"I can't cut anything with this dull knife."
