I need to rest. This would be, to me, the same as אני צריך לנוח
We would say "to get some rest" rather than "to get a rest" for the most part.
"I've been working late at my job all week. I need to get some rest this weekend."
We also would say "take a rest" rather than "have a rest" for the most part.
"You've been working hard all day. You look tired. Why don't you take a rest."
