Es lo mismo.
En el español de España el concepto de MESERO no se usa. Se usa mucho más CAMARERO. Creo que en el español de algunos países de Sudamérica sí se usa MESERO.
Mi consejo es que siempre uses CAMARERO, si te quieres referir a la persona que tiene por oficio servir consumiciones en restaurantes y/o bares.

Supongo que mesero, podría referirse a mozo, en un restaurante. Y camarero, sería más adecuado usar en un bar.
