Recently I watched a video of a Malaysian girl speaking English and I began to think that the Malaysian English Accent is very similar to the way Filipinos speak English. So I was wondering how Malaysians think of it

It's similar to Malay people, still there are differences between them.

Filipinos have a very good command of English. I enjoy talking to them.

@Kurousaginekochan it's is a cool think as the way Filipinos prounouce it is more strong towards the America accent, compared to Malaysia as we keen to follow British accent due to other our sylibus for English is more oriented toward British accent pronouciation.

@Kurousaginekochan @miqs11 yep! for instance, the word "four" - Filipinos tend to pronounce it similar as to how Americans do. As for Malaysians, we would simply pronounce it 'foh'.

@Kurousaginekochan my mom is a Filipino and my mom always say that she doesn't really like the way Filipinos speak English, because tbh Filipino english accent is a bit different than Malaysian english accent. I can't really describe how different it is, but having a lot of Filipinos in my circles (my family I mean) I think it's the same like what donald bebek said, it's somewhere between American and Spanish accents. Malaysian doesn't have that kind of characteristics for the english accent. Hehe.
But personally imo Filipino accent is quite cuteeeee but whever I try to imitate it, I failed. Hahahaha. While other people can't really differentiate the differences, my ears can actually detect is someone is from Filipino in my country from the way the speak english. Hehe.

It's quite cute, we don't judge because we also know that we have an accent when speaking English as well.

Similar but a little different, Malaysian tend to use a richer vocabulary but slack a bit on pronunciation.The Phillipines on the other hand on average have clear pronunciation, but less variation in vocabulary.
