maggiesensei is only good for when you're advanced in Japanese. It's an amazing resource for obscure grammar.
The best resources cost money but they are relatively cheap. You'll be saving months of learning time in exchange for the cost.
iknow.jp for vocabulary
http://www.yesjapan.com/YJ7/?#!guide/1 for introduction to grammar.
Humanjapanese is an amazing resource too and it's what i started with. You can download a free version of the app to get started.
Though i've got to warn you: If you don't have an iron willpower you won't get very far in this language. It's arguably the most difficult language in the world for an English speaker. In the time it takes to become fluent in Japanese; you could become fluent in French, Italian, and German. I heard that the dropout rate for this language is higher than in the Navy seals.
ε-(´∀`; )
You're going to need to absolutely fall in love with the language if you plan on getting further then basic travel phrases. I'm not trying to scare you away from trying it, just saving you a month of wasted hard work unless you're sure you'll follow through! それで、頑張ってね!
