"Intoxication" is something like alcohol or drugs that causes someone to pass out or just be under high influence under the drug/drink. You can even use it to describe someone. "You're intoxicating" kinda means you are an engaging or fun to hang out with, like wine.
Poison almost always suggests that the substance is deadly.
