50/50 just means in half. For example, if you and someone went out for dinner and you BOTH wanted to pay, you could split the cost of the dinner in half and both pay. You can use 50/50 in most sentence when you want to say "in half"
- English (US)
It means that you will pay for or take half of something and the other person will pay for or take the other half. It comes from 50% and 50% making 100% or all of something.

Split it in half, usually used when talking about splitting money and sometimes food

It's an expression used when you're going to share something with someone, most times you'd say this when splitting money or a profit with someone.
It can be said when you're trying to convince someone to help you.
"Why should I help you?"
"Because I'll split it with you fifty-fifty."
