i think in east finland we like russians, because they come to shop and visit our naturalparks like koli.
but in shops some russians don't act nicely, its such a let down.

Depends a lot on who you ask. Older people tend to have more reluctance towards russians and they remember better time when russian tourists were mainly oligarchs.
Now days as tourists are behaving better, thou language problems still cause drama, and we have more problematic immigrants russians are more liked. I think main cause is that they don't demand group rights and learn language, the feat that everyone here can appreciate.

We don't really see that many Russian tourists were I live, so I don't really have a personal opinion on them. They are important to our tourist industry though, so I say welcome ;)
I haven't met that many Russian immigrants either, but the few I have seem to have integrated well enough that apart from language, there isn't much of a difference to those born here. Russians are the largest group of immigrants we have here, but honestly, you here very little of them. I know there are stereotypes and name calling, but other than that, there doesn't seem to be much conflict. It would be interesting to hear how a Russian immigrant here might see it, as such things are rarely apparent to the majority.

I speak Russian as my first language and I was born in Finland and it really depends. I have had more mean treatment than nice ones so I would be biased with my opinion since people were quite mean to my parents when they moved in to Finland from Estonia. :/ There are still stereotypes and prejudice in majority of Finnish people but at school no teacher undermined me which was the great thing in Finnish education. At society level kids used to call me names (ryssä which is derogatory name for Russian) but that's only kids. Teenagers and young people tend to be more tolerant. Older people (adults) are more hiding their opinions (since my mum is still treated poorly just because she is Russian) and in case of old people it really depends. All in all you have equal opportunities in case of jobs that is it's hard to get if you don't have good degree and work experience. But that's just my opinion and how I was treated while I lived there. *shrug*

@Maydragon22 thank you for your perspective! I'm sorry to hear your experiences here have been bad, but I wish I could say I'm surprised. 🙁

@ered I know how you feel. But by no means I'm saying all Finnish people are bad, in fact, I have two great friends who are Finnish. There are good and bad people in any nation, I was just unlucky.
