Big= something that is large or grand (not small).
Huge= something that is larger than big (definitely not small).
Examples of big:
-adults
-furniture
-horses, cows, pigs
Examples of huge:
-elephants
-whales
-ships (boats)
-airplanes
-stadiums or arenas
-skyscrapers

the word "huge" is generally more descriptive, and less commonly used than "big".
for example, I might say a house is "a big building," but I am more likely to say that a skyscraper or mansion is "a huge building."
