Question about French (France)
Is it rude to say "you're welcome" as a response to someone saying "thank you"? My French professor told our class it could come off as rude in certain situations, is that true?

Hmm i Think that there are some situation where you can't say "you're welcome"because it seems weird for example if you go at a supermarket and the cashier says "thank you " while saying goodbye to you, you can't say "de rien " it's weird

for me "my pleasure" is better than "you're welcome"

In Québec, we say "bienvenue" and it's pretty polite! But you can say "ça fait plaisir", it's more safe, I guess haha
