@Yske: The second one, "this book is intresting for me", doesn't really make sense. It can work, but the first one makes more sense.

actually, the second one can make sense. It means the same as the first one, but it puts stress on the fact that it is interesting to you, rather than someone else. "The book is intresting for me, but not for most people." makes sense, but "to" would probably still be better unless you really want to stress the "me" part.
