Most gas pump are self service, meaning you do it yourself and put the card in the pump.

@charlesfiincher Are you pumping the gas yourself? The gas pumps have a credit card reader on them.

@charlesfiincher you don't need to talk to anyone if it's self service. You just drive up to the pump and follow the instructions on it.

You would say "I'd like __ gallons on pump __" the blanks are for the amount of gas you want and which pump your car is parked at. The pumps usually have a large number on them.

When you go and pay for gas, you say as you give him money, " 20 on 7" which means $20.00 on pump no.7. If the gas stops pumping, go back inside and say, "change on7, please!
The nozzle should not be in your gas tank when asking for change. Don't smoke or leave engine on when putting gas.
