Ed si usa quando dopo c'è una parola che comincia per vocale.

Non c'è alcuna differenza di significato. Aggiungiamo la 'd eufonica' quando due vocali identiche si susseguono.
Es: 'ed è' (non e è), 'ad andare' (non a andare), ecc.
Però, ci sono alcune eccezioni:
'ed io', 'ad esempio', 'ad eccezione', 'ad ora'.
