"Lacag maa heesti" (I don't have money). "Maa" is used as a negative "don't". Otherwise it would have been "lacag waan qaaba" (I have money).

you can use "ma" for all negative sentences. you cad add it before or after as the example @sarah_w mentioned but not for never and the order sentences( don't get in) you can add in normal negative sentences. I hope that helped 😊

@sarah_w hi aabayo "qaabo" means wear and not have... it'll be more like "lacag ma heesti "
But other than that you're right .

@nasri9 Waad mahadsantahay abaayo. "lacaag maa haayo" is more correct?
I've always used"qaabo" maybe it varies because of dialects?

@sarah_w yeah you're right. maybe dialect difference but I have never heard anyone using qabo for have.
I don't have money = lacag ma heesti
I have money= lacag waan heesta.
haaya means when you have it in hand as in on you ... heesta is you have it as in on you or in ur account or somewhere ... you get What I mean aabayo

@nasri91 No absolutely not! I am only half Somali, so I learnt Somali a few years ago. I'm fluent in speaking but not quite in qooralka 😅
