Question about English (US)

What is the difference between I'm studying English. and I've been studying English. ?Feel free to just provide example sentences.

Many English learners write "I 'm studying English.",on their profile of social network such as twitter and facebook, but it sounds a bit strange to me because "S+ be+doing." is for a short action. Can I say "I've been studying English." instead of "I am studying English."? Are both correct?

Thank you very much for your help. (bow)
