Question about Finland
I want to travel to Finland with my friends in 2 years (after we finish high school) for about one month and I wonder which are the best places to visit to feel the spirit of the country? Also, how about weather in Finland in July/August?

I think Lapland is a great place, but there are alot of mosquitoes in the summer. Also keep in mind that Finland is a fairly big country, so distances can be long. Even Helsinki can be a very nice place depending on what you are looking for. The weather around that time is usually about 20 degrees celsius, but easily changes. Feel free to ask more questions to clarify.

My opinion, and one suggestion, would be to visit Helsinki and, to see another historical city, Turku. But to have a more realistic picture of the country, you should see some smaller towns too. In southern Finland the distances aren't too bad, and you can easily visit many towns a day. Some nice summer towns that come to mind would be Porvoo, Loviisa, Hanko, Tammisaari.. These are all less than a 90min drive from Helsinki.
I don't think it's ever too hot here, so that's the best(warmest) time to visit ;) Welcome!

In my opinion Finland is a very safe country pretty much everywhere. I would also consider us friendly, but we are generally quiet and don't chat too much so some people from different cultures might find that a bit rude/weird. Most people do still like tourists and try to help if you just ask.
