When saying "mi vieja" does it mean mother or wife?

it's somewhat a rude way as a nickname to your wife. It is translated to "my old lady".
for example;
"Vieja, has de comer."
"Old lady, make some food./Cook something."

Sometimes it's considered colloquial vulgar and it can mean both, it depends on the context.
In Mexico, it can mean your wife, girlfriend, etc. But BE CAREFUL, as it can be reaaally offensive for some people.
When referring to one's parents, one can say ("mis jefes": "mi jefe" (my dad); "mi jefa" (my mom). These are not offensive, just colloquial (used mainly in lower income neighbourhoods).
As far as I know, it is uncommon to use "mi vieja" as "mother" in Mexico (I believe in Argentina it is so).
