Question about Korean

In a kpop interview the English speaker in the group was saying how yes and no in Korean is confusing for the members because it's different and he used an example. This is what he said:
"Do you like Jungkook?"
"No, no"
And this makes sense in Korea? In America it would mean you don't like Jungkook.
Someone please explain to me what the yes and no thing is in Korean? Is it opposite?
