I don't think it is very common, it means "a thing or action that is meaningless to someone"
- English (US)
Men use it here much more often than women. It doesn't concern me. "I don't care what you do. No sweat off my back>"

I agree with marigold92 that women don't use it that often. It implies that you sweat, which is not something that women would usually want to say (I don't mean to stereotype, here).

Thanks guys! Is it an old school expression? If a women say that would sound "manly"?
- English (US)
I don't know, really. I have worked at jobs where I was the only woman. I might have said it then. When I think about it, I can't think of a situation where women even make that kind of reply. We would be more likely to say,go ahead or I don't care or do what you want to do. Another male type answer is "no skin off my nose". This one is unisex "feel free" said when you were a little angry.

I came across this page bc I just used the expression (I'm a US-born woman) and my UK-born friend had never heard it before. So, apparently women do use it...me at least. ;)
