taboo(ominous behavior): "Transferring", "Standing (stick into rice bowl)" Because these are customs in a Japanese funeral.
"Skewering", "Resting", "Shoveling": Generally speaking, these are regarded as bad manners, but it seems some of us do them.
The others are regarded as bad manners, and they look unpleasant.

Really? In Japan?
In Japan, after the cremation, funeral attenders pick up the bones with the same two pairs of chopsticks. That is a religious custom. Doing that while having a meal reminds us of the funeral, so I was told not to do that by my parents.

oh but I'm kind of still confused. Why do they use chopsticks at a funeral? It's weird and interesting in the same way

I don't know why (the bereaved family picks up the bones with chopsticks to put into a ceramic pot/urn), but what I can only say is that it is one of religious rites in Japan. Actually, I attended a funeral of my grandmother (88 years old) this year. The bones ware hot because they were soon after the cremation. And, when I did that..., I felt the weight of the bone... I still remember the weight...

When you stop eating and leave your chopsticks. You shouldn't put your chopsticks into rice. I think putting chopsticks into rice reminds us a dedication to someone dead.
