1) I only know about them from animes. They seem like places where people relax in hot baths, divided by gender.
2) Maybe.
3) Massages, perhaps. Again, I don't know much about them, so this may already be included in the experience.

@itatakahagiwada 1) They are naturally heated outdoor pools of water I think. I only have a vague idea from tv and movies.
2) I would not like to go. I have read a lot of racist and anti-fat things on the Hinative Japan thread. Since I am neither Japanese nor skinny, I don't think it is a place I will ever feel comfortable.

1. I only know hot springs from the mountains in my country but on anime I have seen them a lot, both of them are a bit different in comparison.
2. I would like to go to a Japanese hot spring yet I wish to know what kind of proper etiquette I should understand first before using one.
3. If I were to choose I suppose I would like service that treats kindly to foreigners and are willing to help tell them what behaviour and rules is required before entering. (I don't know if they do this already sorry).
