@misokatsu: Both words share a common meaning in that it refers to what comes after an event. The difference is in the connotation. Consequence usually carries a suggestion of something potentially or actually negative. You wouldn't expect someone to say, "as a consequence of your excellent work in the last project, you're getting promoted!" The phrase "face the consequences" also has a negative meaning.
Result is more regularly used in conversation. Ex. "As a result of your hard work, you got a good grade" It is neutral and can be both negative or positive.

I would add one more thing.
Consequences and results both come after something... but result also has a sense of completion. Like the results of a sports event, of transactions, of exams, etc.
