No. Too conservative people, too stupid government, too low progress ( in all life spheres). And low life level, of course

I do not speak very much English, but I hope you understand me. Russia is not the best country to live in, believe me. Low salaries, bad roads, poor education, medicine. Power is not interested in citizens. Stupid laws. There is hatred in the older generation for LGBT, people of other nationalities. I advise you not to perezhat for permanent residence.

God, how many here are "no":D Probably I will be the only person who will answer "yes". Now I will explain why.
I really like the culture of my country: its artists, musicians, composers, poets, writers, etc. I like to feel part of this great culture, live in this culture and fully understand it, realizing that it is a part of you, and you are a part of it.
And I also like the architectural component of this country: its old houses are destroyed by time and built next to new modern ones... the architectural structure of churches, some educational institutions, theaters and cinemas.
In general, the visual architectural and cultural components of the country makes this place good for living (personally for me).

You sure can come here as a tourist. Many people visit Moscow and Saint-Petersburg and there's a lot of cool stuff to do. But I wouldn't recommend moving there due to country's economic recession, political instability. All this leads to the specific problems mentioned in previous comments. There are foreigners, who come to study and to live in Russia for a few years and I've never heard a story of them being assaulted or anything but they surely gain a lot of experience living here. I recommend looking for some forums, discussions, and stories on the internet from foreign people who'd already lived in Russia for some time and just to know what they think and what hurdles they had faced. It depends on what is "good" for you and in comparison with what. Russia is poor country in comparison with Europe and the USA, but richer than other states of CIS. Climate is hard, but nature is perfect. If you have enough money, life in Russia can be unbelievably wonderful. If you are very poor, you are loser in every country. Don't believe these children who is writing about corruption and so on. They can't compare and only repeat stupid things.

@tawata I partially agree with many commentators, but I want to say that it all depends on your personality. It depends on what kind of person you are, how you perceive and see this world, what your values and desires are. I am convinced that everyone has his own house on earth, and that this house is not necessarily the country in which a person was born. Before you say whether Russia is good for you or not, you must live in Russia and decide for yourself. I know so many foreigners who come to Russia who absolutely enjoy this country, despite the cons, they feel comfortable, but I also know Russian, who literally fled from this country. You can only tell once you tried.
