i guess they're about the same but i hear "slippery" used more often. especially to describe ground surfaces (ex: icy, snowy, etc). as for slick, I usually associate it with something oily or smooth.
also, slick can be used to describe someone/something as sly, shrewd, suave (ex: he devised a slick plan to get out of work)
