Answer I'm going to drop in at his house on my way home.
While "I'm going to drop in at his house on my way home" sounds fine and better than the other choice, it would be more natural to say, "I'm going to drop by his house on my way home."

Answer I'm going to drop in at his house on my way home.
I agree with bluebubbles17 what says. It is also that "home" sounds more personal than "house", so it is more natural feeling for us to call someone elses home to a house and our own a home.

Answer I'm going to drop in at his house on my way home.
(Sorry for replying instead of making my own little comment thing; my phone is only letting my type in these things) If you're going for what sounds natural I wouldn't use either one. What I would say is "I'm going to stop by his place on my way home" or "On my way home, I'm going to stop by his house"
