Distinct: compares two or more things that are clearly different
Evident: describes how "clear" or "obvious" something is
"There are two DISTINCT possibilities: either he is telling the truth, and someone framed him; or he is actually a very clever man, and he's fooling the police."

Evident means something is clear or easy to see/understand.
Distinct is only used when comparing two or more things.
You could be “distinct” because of good grades (compared to other students), but you wouldn’t be “evident”.
