Straightとはそういう意味を持ちます。他には、"I had to stand the whole ride", "I had to stand all the way there", "I've been standing all day"なども使います。Keepをどうしても使いたいなら、"I've had to keep standing for 40 minutes"のほうが文法的に増しですけど、私が与えたのは状況に合っているフレーズですね。よく使われています。
