@8langm Well, that's the weird thing that I said. If I go to Poland, I would learn some easy Polish words to communicate with the Polish people. If I go to US, I would practice English speaking to communicate with natives.

I suppose it's much easier to find someone who understands English.
We learn English as the second language at school but Japanese is basically just an option. Nevertheless, it is quite popular too because of its similarity to Korean and because of some other factors such as Animations.

@Mrcloud I mean obviously Korean is #1 haha. But you answered in English 😋
I will definitely try to learn some Korean before I go!! But I won’t be fluent in a few months. 😢 So like @8langm said, I was just wondering which foreign language I could use more to communicate with

English is better I think. Actually No one want to speak to foreigners in Japanese in korea apart from those who majored in japanese or japanese.
but amost all koreans want to speak english well. and usually I guess most of students can listen your words in english even if they can't speak english fluently.
and please don't get me wrong. I didn't say korean don't like japanese but actually we think English is much more useful to live than japanese. so I said like that.
and I'm sure that nothing can help you with communication. actually Korean is the only?thing to communicate with others in korea. but at least when you speak english, we can understand but japanese is not like that. @yippiee
