Australia uses the metric system (cm, metres, kilometres, etc.). Old(er) people will generally be at least a little familiar with feet, inches, and miles because it has been used here before the country changed to metric, but not the younger population. And we use Celsius, not Fahrenheit.

no, we use centimetres, millimetres, and sometimes inches to measure smaller things. Kilometres is what you use to measure distance when driving and all weather is in celsius :)
