how can I take a bus in England?
how can I take a bus in England?

Featured answer
- Country or region United Kingdom
In most towns and the country, the driver of the bus sells the tickets. When the bus stops, let the passengers get off then ask the driver for a ticket. Most often people get “a single” (one way) or return. If you get a return, you show the ticket to the driver when you get on to come back.
In London (and some other big cities) it can be a bit more complicated. Instead of buying a ticket from the driver, you need either a credit/debit card that can do contactless payments, or buy an Oyster card (a pre-paid card). With those, you tap them against the readers when you get on. Because you don’t need to talk to the driver, those buses often have more than one door.

There are bus stops dotted around everywhere so you should just go to one and then you can pay for a ticket when you get on the bus
